Three months before kickoff for the Women's World Cup, players for the U.S. women's national team filed a gender discrimination lawsuit against the U.S. Soccer Federation.
All 28 members of the team were named as plaintiffs in the case filed in United States District Court in Los Angeles, and they are seeking class-action status over "institutionalized gender discrimination" toward the team. The lawsuit was filed under the Equal Pay Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.”

Suspended Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle David Irving said he's quitting the NFL, less than a week after the league suspended him indefinitely for violating its substance-abuse policy for a third time in as many years.
"Basically, guys, I quit," Irving said. "I don't want to talk about a suspension and all this other nonsense. I'm outta there. I'm not doing this shit no more." "It's funny, you know, some people: 'Oh, you're addicted to weed, you're addicted to this and that,'" he said. "I mean, shit, if I'm gonna be addicted to something, I'd rather be addicted to marijuana, which is medical, it's a medicine; I do not consider it a drug, rather than Xanax bars or the hydros or the seroquel and all that crazy shit that they feed you."

The Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that they’d established a framework for regulating cell-based meat and poultry. Cell-based meat companies have been arguing for years that their product is meat and should be regulated like meat from slaughterhouses. Cell-based meat has the potential to solve a bunch of the world’s biggest problems in one shot.
